Memory of Philip J. Longo

Philip J. Longo - Founder and Inspiration for Longo LawMr. Philip J. Longo was born in Driggs, Idaho, in 1933. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved hiking, skiing, sailing, playing piano, and in his younger years, riding in rodeos. Most of all, he loved his family and upheld the highest standards of both personal and professional ethics throughout his life and career. He passed those passions onto his family. In 1963, he became a licensed, Certified Public Accountant. He moved to Santa Barbara in 1969 and opened his accounting practice. While maintaining that practice, he went to Ventura College of Law and became a member of the California Bar in 1974. He merged his accounting and law practice, which became the predecessor of this firm as it still exists today. His accounting background and legal education were well suited towards a law practice that emphasized: the Planning, Administration, and Litigation of Trusts and Estates, Probate, Conservatorship, all aspects of personal, business, and estate taxation, Real Estate litigation and transactional matters, Commercial litigation and Small Business planning. Although he lost a hard battle with cancer in 2001, his commitment to the practice of law, his family, and to keeping the highest standards of both personal and professional ethics will always live on in this firm.
